WEF: Sharing Sensitive Health Data in a Federated Data Consortium Model An Eight-Step Guide

August 12th 2020

World Economic Forum has recently developed this report on accessing sensitive health data at scale in order to advance research, innovation
and patient outcomes.

This paper is part of the Forum’s work to create actionable resources for policy-makers, healthcare professionals and leaders of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to navigate complex and sensitive health data policies globally. The Forum is testing a federated approach – where data sets are accessed
remotely without movement of data from its secure location of origin – as a practical way to access the disparate genomic and health data sets needed to accelerate the diagnosis of rare disease in patients in four countries.

Dr. Durhane Wong-Rieger, Chair of the IRDiRC Patient Advocates Constituent Committee, as contributed to it.
