Call for Experts for Primary Care Task Force

Primary Care Task Force on “Identifying Key Challenges and Opportunities to Advance IRDiRC Goals with Focus on Primary Care”

The Diagnostics Scientific Committee (DSC), Interdisciplinary Scientific Committee (ISC), and  Funders Constituent Committee (FCC) have set up a joint Task Force to identify challenges and opportunities in rare diseases research focusing on primary care. This may include diagnosis, therapies, ELSI, and patient engagement.

This will be accomplished through several strategies, including developing gateway and point of care services to provide ready access to collaborative multi- and interdisciplinary diagnostic, treatment, and research teams who communicate back to primary care. We will bring together representatives from the stakeholders to identify the priority research areas in primary care that need to be addressed to deliver against the IRDiRC goals.

IRDiRC is currently assembling a team of experts to populate this Task Force and is specifically looking for members with expertise/experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Primary care health provider with experience/research in rare disease
  • Involvement in strategic planning for rare disease research
  • Able to commit to monthly teleconferences, a yearly meeting, regular committee activities, and email correspondence

How to apply?

If you are interested in taking part in this activity, please send your CV, biosketch, and letter of motivation (one paragraph each) to the Scientific Secretariat before the 29 October 2021
